In the context of partnerships with clients such as Domtar and Kruger Products, CIMA+ has built a team of specialists for completing large-scale projects related to paper machinery. These devices lie at the heart of production. All modifications are delicate interventions, and must be conducted during planned shut-downs.

 

CIMA+ has been involved in several cost reduction or optimisation operations, beginning with defining needs, to trials and commissioning.

Reconstruction of dry end of paper machine n°5

Kruger Products, Gatineau

The project consisted in increasing the speed of paper machine n°5 by complete rebuilding of the dry end.

 

This included the installation of the following components: 

 

1. a modern reel with a spool return system

2. a mandrel core puller with lift table

3. a hot glue system for bobbin transfer

4. a new dust recovery system

 

Moreover, the hood and drying system required replacement, and three new economizers were connected to the existing network with a new white water filter.

 

The project allowed a significant increase in paper machine speed and a marked reduction in time required from paper press to winder.

Control of microbial proliferation

Domtar, Windsor

The various supply circuits for paper machine water, pulp and additives require processing to control cleanliness parameters. The optimisation of these parameters is a constant challenge in the paper industry because poor control can lead to costly operational problems.

 

The system developed by CIMA+ allows low doses of cleaning products to be added on a continuous basis and in a closed circuit.
