In engineering, we must take the time to step aside in order to question and rethink our approach. This is the key to devising more effective solutions.

Partner, Rimouski

Olivier Gauthier has worked in the field of civil engineering since 2000. An engineer who specializes in structures, he joined the CIMA+ team in 2007 as a Partner and Director of the Rimouski office.

In his role as Project Manager and Designer, he has been involved in more than 100 structural projects, most of which have been complex, major initiatives. A seasoned designer of structures made from steel, reinforced concrete and wood, he has mastered all steps involved in the execution of projects involving these types of structures. He is a member of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCG) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Motivation for joining the Committee

Olivier believes that an ethical commitment is the starting point for gaining trust and respect. This implies actions that are guided by the principles of transparency, integrity and respect. Before applying to be a member of the Committee, he researched ethics, mainly for the purpose of ascertaining how the topic is broached in other industries.

His vision of ethics

Because we live in a community, we must adopt and follow rules that are always equitable and fair for everyone.
