The East Kootenay Regional Hospital Pediatrics Unit was relocated from the third to the second floor of the building and replaces the existing ICU. In its new location, the pediatrics unit is adjacent to the maternity and newborn inpatient wards–a convenient location for hospital staff and new parents alike. The maternity and newborn inpatient wards include a renovated nursery. Given the busy nature of the hospital, demolition and renovation were phased to minimize disruption on the operations of the maternity and newborn unit. CIMA+ assisted in the production of the drawings and specifications and provided quality control services throughout construction.
