The REM is among the largest and most innovative light rail transit (LRT) system projects currently underway around the world. Fully automated, it will connect Montreal’s downtown core with several suburbs including the South Shore, West Island, North Shore, and the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.
With 67 kilometres of double track, 27 stops, and 4 separate rail lines, it is designed for an expected ridership of approximately 40 million passengers per year. The project is expected to be completed in 2020.
The REM is testimony to CIMA+’s capacity to deliver large-scale projects that pose significant challenges. Planning major construction works in an urban environment namely involves traffic management constraints and sensitive environmental considerations, as well as taking into consideration the needs and interests of multiple stakeholders. We are proud to be able to count on all of our sectors of expertise to successfully deliver this major multidisciplinary project.
