The population of North Battleford is estimated to almost double by 2038. The Transportation Master Plan (TMP) is therefore intended to guide planning, constructing, improving, and managing North Battleford’s transportation networks. The TMP will identify local, regional, and provincial transportation considerations to support growth in the urban area. Understanding regional travel patterns was a key component of the study. Origin-destination data for each of the regional spokes around North Battleford was analyzed to identify portions of trips destined to North Battleford and those passing though. The data was further processed to estimate travel routes for trips passing through the City, and the portion of these trips that make a short stop in the City before continuing to their destinations. The data informed forecasting activities to assist in the development of recommendations and improvement priority plans.
