We are looking for an Electrical Distribution Network Technician to join our T&D and energy team from our offices in Lévis, Rimouski or Rivière-du-Loup. The ideal candidate will thrive in a versatile role combining design, project management and field work, with a tangible and direct impact on electricity users.
Primary Responsibilities
- Visit sites to determine the nature of the work to be carried out
- Carry out field surveys
- Design overhead and/or underground distribution networks
- Draw up plans using AutoCAD software
- Work with geographic information systems (GIS)
- Research property rights and prepare easement applications
- Estimating quantities of materials, labour requirements and costs
- Applying for permits from the entities concerned (municipal, ministerial, etc.)
- Supervise work, in residence or in support (occasionally)
- Ensure rigorous follow-up of projects
- Work closely with customers
- Profile
- College Diploma or DEC in civil, electrical or telecommunications engineering
- Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS), an asset
- Knowledge of utility distribution and/or telecommunications networks
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and the Microsoft (MS) Office suite
- Ability to work on different projects simultaneously
- Strong client service orientation
- Interest in outdoor work
- Available to travel for field surveys (up to 20% of the time)
- Fluency in spoken and written French
- Valid Driver's licence and access to a vehicle
