Laval, December 12, 2017 – CIMA+ is proud to announce that its Montreal office has obtained the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Canada certification for Commercial Interiors.
“CIMA+ is committed to reducing its environmental footprint, while ensuring the well-being of its employees, and the LEED certification for Commercial Interiors is one of the means for reaching this objective,” says Denis Thivierge, Vice President, Buildings for the Greater Montreal Area and Director of the Montreal office.
CIMA+’s teams in sustainable buildings and mechanical and electrical engineering were involved with both their professional and construction partners in the design process, which allowed for the fulfillment of the desired environmental objectives. The project’s environmental strategies include the integration of measures for the preservation of indoor air quality, the reduction of water consumption, the use of energy-efficient equipment (Energy Star) and of low volatile organic compound materials.
CIMA+ wishes to eventually carry out similar efforts in its other offices, in order for them to obtain the LEED certification for Commercial Interiors. This transition will occur during the renovation of its office spaces and/or following the negotiation of expiring leases.
