CIMA+ announces that its Gatineau and Sherbrooke offices have obtained LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. This recognition demonstrates our commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and employee well-being. These projects are a tangible illustration of our desire to design healthy, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly workspaces that contribute to the vitality of their surrounding communities.
The Gatineau and Sherbrooke projects embody CIMA+’s integrated and sustainable approach to workplace design.
Constructed between August 2023 and March 2024, the new building in Gatineau distinguishes itself with a 21% energy improvement over the ASHRAE 90.1-2010 standard. Low-flow plumbing fixtures have reduced indoor water consumption by 32%, while more than 50% of construction waste has been recovered or recycled rather than landfilled. Its strategic location near major public transit corridors promotes responsible travel and contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The relocation of the Sherbrooke offices to an existing building near Lac des Nations focused on reusing furniture and materials to minimize our carbon footprint. The building’s life cycle analysis showed a 46% reduction in intrinsic carbon emissions, while overall energy performance improved by 40.1%. The bright, natural layout of the space now promotes quality of life at work, and its strategic location in Sherbrooke encourages the use of active modes of transportation.
