The mandate was for replacement of the protection and control systems for the two voltage tiers: 315-120 kV and 315-25 kV. Each voltage tier is housed in its own control building. The two conventional control systems were replaced by an ALCDI (Automatic Local Control by Distributed Intelligence) digital control system. The existing protection systems were replaced by new digital protection systems.
