Chamouchouane-Bout-de-l’Île Project

This project was fundamental in increasing Hydro-Québec’s transmission system capacity in order to bring power produced by generating facilities in the Baie-James and Côte-Nord regions to load centres in southern Quebec.

CIMA+ was hired as a transmission line consulting firm to assist Hydro-Québec during the development of the Chamouchouane-Bout-de-l’Île project, which involved the construction of a new 400 km of 735 kV line between the Lac-St-Jean region and Montreal. This new line namely contributed to reducing electrical losses on the existing 735 kV lines. CIMA+ provided engineering support to Hydro-Québec’s team on this project to develop the most valuable and efficient solutions for the client’s engineering needs.
