Electric arc study for power stations in northern Ontario

Electric arc studies for three hydroelectric power stations in northern Ontario built between 1920 and 1960.

As part of the mandate granted by Ontario Power Generation (OPG), a team of CIMA+ engineers gathered data from the three power stations (Manitou Falls, Alexander Falls and Cameron Falls) in order to produce an updated electrical diagram, a location plan and an electric arc study.

The three electric arc studies include a review of the equipment coordination and validation of the equipment maintenance and switching capabilities. They also detail the electric arc results for more than 20 possible operational scenarios, in compliance with CSA standard Z462 2018.
