Opportunity study related to pedestrian travel

Tool intended to organize and plan the design of pedestrian facilities to promote active transportation modes, including walking.

Ville de Laval wishes to reconfigure its neighbourhoods to create healthy and attractive living spaces on a human scale. The objective is to provide citizens with efficient, active and sustainable mobility. This is a considerable challenge for a city comprised of multiple urban hubs and initially shaped by automobile traffic. However, the challenge can be met by improving pedestrian travel by developing a comprehensive, pleasant and safe network of pedestrian facilities, along with more effective sharing of public spaces among the various user groups. Ville de Laval retained the services of CIMA+ to conduct an opportunity study related to pedestrian travel within its territory.
