Ville de Laval wishes to reconfigure its neighbourhoods to create healthy and attractive living spaces on a human scale. The objective is to provide citizens with efficient, active and sustainable mobility. This is a considerable challenge for a city comprised of multiple urban hubs and initially shaped by automobile traffic. However, the challenge can be met by improving pedestrian travel by developing a comprehensive, pleasant and safe network of pedestrian facilities, along with more effective sharing of public spaces among the various user groups. Ville de Laval retained the services of CIMA+ to conduct an opportunity study related to pedestrian travel within its territory.
Tool intended to organize and plan the design of pedestrian facilities to promote active transportation modes.
