Reconfiguration study of the intersection of boulevard des Récollets and rue Bellefeuille

Development of designs to enhance user safety and reduce the risk of collisions.

Located in a commercial zone and controlled by traffic signals, the intersection of boulevard des Récollets and rue Bellefeuille consists of two intersections separated by a forty-meter (40 m) road island. Due to its atypical geometry, collisions are frequent. Ville de Trois-Rivières wanted to reconfigure the area in order to optimize user safety and reduce the number of accidents while ensuring fluid traffic flow in the sector.

Toward this end, the services of CIMA+ were retained to assess and propose various reconfiguration options for this problematic intersection.
