Reconstruction of a main wastewater pumping station and force main

Upgrading of a wastewater pumping station in a limited space bordering Saint-Joseph Lake

The City of Fossambault-sur-le-Lac was confronted with the lack of capacity of its wastewater pumping station, which regularly resulted in overflows into Saint-Joseph Lake during spring melt periods and preventing any development on its territory. The project consisted of increasing the pumping capacity (from 60 L/S to 150 L/s) of the existing structure which carries all wastewater to the treatment site. CIMA+ made sure no overflow occurred during reconstruction works, by recommending that a sheltered temporary station equipped with a generator be built close to the existing pumping station. The temporary structure was maintained in operation for the duration of the reconstruction works, and demolished once the upgraded station was connected to the treatment site.
