Environmental due diligence and site remediation

Expertise if environmental due diligence is invaluable in understanding the interactions between human activities and the environment. Specialists in environmental due diligence use their knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, geography and even ecology to analyze the impact of human activities, particularly contaminants, on the quality of soils, sediments, groundwater, surface water and other media.

Our planet is facing many environmental challenges, such as climate change. When it comes to contaminated land management, specialists in the field of environmental due diligence have the ability to design solutions for the remediation of contaminated sites, adapt work methods to mitigate impacts, as well as monitor work to mitigate environmental risks.  Thanks to our approach, we contribute to sustainable development by offering our clients effective solutions that respect the environment.

Carry Out Your Projects with Complete Peace of Mind

Our clients face many environmental challenges, particularly when it comes to project costs. CIMA+ is committed to providing sustainable solutions by assessing environmental risks at the earliest stages of your project. We carefully analyze the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination to identify risks to the environment, public health and the ecosystem.

  • What is the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination on the property?
  • What are the risks to the environment, human health, public safety and the ecosystem associated with the contamination?
  • How can the contamination be treated, and what are the remediation options?
  • What is the estimated cost of treating the contamination?
  • Are there any legal or regulatory provisions in place governing the management of contamination, and how might they affect the project?
  • Is it contamination or naturally occurring observed in the region?
  • How might contamination affect local communities and regional economies?
  • How might the presence of contamination affect property value and future development prospects?

CIMA+ experts will answer these questions and help you identify the risks associated with your project, so you can make informed decisions about managing contamination and keeping your project on track.

Our Specialized Services

Rely on our multidisciplinary professionals to meet and exceed your requirements and expectations. We offer a full range of engineering services to successfully deliver your project, from start to finish.

Our in-depth knowledge of regulations and the support of our experts can help prevent problems at every stage of a project.

Environmental Site Assessments (ESA – Phase I/II/III)

CIMA+'s team of experts excels in Environmental Site Assessments and have worked to master the issues and processes involved.

We carry out Environmental Site Assessments in a variety of contexts, from the acquisition of land for real estate, industrial or commercial developments, to the rehabilitation of road infrastructure, parks and buildings.

We are also carrying out environmental liability assessments to provide for site remediation plans or to support the handover of properties to third parties. Each project benefits from our in-depth expertise and rigorous approach, guaranteeing tailored solutions that comply with regulatory requirements.

Monitoring of groundwater, surface water and air quality (biogas) and tracking of mitigation measures

Groundwater quality monitoring aims to assess the presence and variation of contaminant concentrations in the groundwater, or to evaluate whether groundwater is suitable for domestic use.

Subsurface air quality (biogas) monitoring involves measuring the levels of gases in the subsurface, such as methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, which form naturally in the ground or are produced by the degradation of buried waste or organic matter.  These gases can give rise to safety issues, such as explosion and fire hazards.

Monitoring mitigation measures is an activity aimed at ensuring that measures taken to reduce the negative environmental impacts of a project are implemented correctly and have the expected effect.

Environmental remediation of land and management of contaminated materials

Supervision of environmental remediation work and management of contaminated materials involves ensuring that project objectives are met, by overseeing compliance with the regulatory framework (applicable criteria, traceability of contaminated soils, monitoring of backfill materials). The aim is to ensure that the remediation and Excess Soil Management is carried out in an effective and environmentally friendly manner, minimizing risks to human health and the ecosystem.
