  • Job Description
  • Mission                 

    The Engineer will be called upon to work on the hydrology and hydraulics of hydraulic structures and river and coastal development projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. Projects are in a variety of sectors, such as hydroelectric production, flood protection, transportation, wildlife development, port development, etc. You will be able to work from one of our offices in the Montreal, Quebec City or Eastern Townships regions, and you may also have the possibility of working from home on a hybrid basis.  

     Primary Responsibilities 

    • Carry out studies related to river hydraulics, such as hydrological studies, determination of design flows, hydrogeomorphology, sediment transport studies, floodplain mapping, etc. 
    • Model and simulate the hydraulics of watercourses and hydraulic installations using specialized software (1D, 2D and 3D) - Design hydraulic installations such as spillways, retention basins, canals, bridges, culverts, penstocks, etc. 
    • Carry out dam safety studies 
    • Evaluate the impact of climate change on various infrastructures 
    • Plan and carry out field surveys 
    • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination 
    • Take charge of clients, projects, or lots 
    • Write and check technical reports and contribute to the development of plans and specifications 
    • Participate in the preparation of service agreements
  • Profile
    • University Degree in civil engineering or equivalent, specialization in river or coastal hydraulics 
    • Master’s Degree in hydrology or hydraulics with academic training in modeling (an asset) 
    • Experience in hydrogeomorphology (an asset) 
    • Member of l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) 
    • More than five (5) years’ experience in the field of river and/or coastal hydraulics  
    • Fluency in spoken and written French 
    • Fluency in spoken and written English in a professional context to ensure communications on certain projects
