  • Mission  

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer / Manager, Conveyance interested in joining our growing conveyance team. Working with other members of our team, you will champion the delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations and delivering planned profits. You will also be a strong safety proponent /leader for our safety policies and our culture of caring. 

    You will be based out of our Kitchener office, working in a hybrid model with 1-2 days /week being in the office and collaborating with your peers. 

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Project Delivery for Planning Studies, as well as preliminary and detailed design for municipal linear water and wastewater servicing projects. 
    • Preliminary and detailed design of Site Works in support of our Water Team’s development of Water and Wastewater Facilities.  
    • Managing, planning, organizing work with technical groups in the delivery of project deliverable requirements including scope, fee, schedule, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management plans. 
    • Provide assistance to our Field Services team to provide guidance and direction through the construction phases. 
    • Developing, mentoring, and empowering the project team, including junior engineers and technical support staff. 
    • Tracking, controlling, and reporting on project performance. 
    • Timely invoicing and cash collection. 
    • Maintaining regular and effective communication with clients. 
    • Providing support to business development and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals.

  • Profile
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited post-secondary institute 
    • Holder of P.Eng. designation in Ontario, or eligible to obtain it
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in the engineering design of water and wastewater conveyance facilities
    • Demonstrated success and expertise in water and wastewater conveyance project planning and design, including knowledge of water and wastewater hydraulics 
    • Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary project team environment in preparing conceptual and detailed design drawings, specifications and reports; contract documents; and approvals applications 
    • Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in writing reports and proposals 
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
    • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment 
    • Highly meticulous nature, strong attention to detail 
    • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
    • Job task planning and organizing 
    • Proficient MS Office user including MS Project. 
    • Experience mentoring junior staff is considered an asset 
    • OPWA, OWWA, WEAO or similar organization involvement is considered an asset
