  • Mission

    We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Building team. As part of a team renowned for its expertise, you will be responsible for the design of structures for institutional, residential and commercial projects. Thanks to your experience and technical knowledge, you will help develop innovative solutions to our clients’ projects. In addition, you will contribute to CIMA+’s outreach, mainly in the Halifax Regional Municipality and other Eastern Canada regions.

    We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work from home and from our Dartmouth office.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Carry out detailed and summary inspections of various structures
    • Design and supervise asset maintenance work on existing buildings and manage design teams
    • Carry out seismic analyses for both new-build and renovation projects
    • Perform calculations using specialized software for all types of projects
    • Execute preliminary and detailed design of structural elements to various steel, concrete or wood structures
    • Make technical recommendations and explain possible solutions and design decisions to clients
    • Meet with internal and external stakeholders from various disciplines, provide technical support and contribute to coordination of multidisciplinary teams
    • Manage projects, schedules and budgets.
  • Profile
    • Bachelor’s degree in civil or building engineering.
    • Active member of Engineers Nova Scotia.
    • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in building structures (mainly concrete and steel structures)
    • Good command in ETABS, SAFE, Revit (viewing and limited editing i.e. concrete reinforcing plans), Microsoft Office etc. software
    • Commercial acumen and interest in business development
    • Fluency in oral and written English is a must.
