Section E - Members of visible minorities
According to the Employment Equity Act, members of visible minorities means persons, other than Indigenous peoples, who are non-Caucasian in race or non-white in colour.
A person may be a member of a visible minority group, regardless of their place of birth or citizenship.
Examples of members of visible minorities include, but are not limited to:
Arab persons
Black persons
Chinese persons
Filipino persons
Japanese persons
Korean persons
Latin American persons
South Asian persons (e.g., India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc.)
Southeast Asian persons (e.g., Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.)
West Asian persons (e.g., Afghanistan, Iran, etc.)
People of mixed origin (e.g., with one parent that is a member of a visible minority group)
