Laval, May 19, 2017 – CIMA+ is proud to have won a Grand Prix du génie-conseil Québécois (granted by the Quebec Association of Consulting Engineering Firms) in the Building Mechanical and Electrical Systems category for the Monastère des Augustines restoration project, which also earned a special Visionary award. The gala took place on May 15 at the Grande Bibliothèque de Montréal.

“Excellence is part of the values advocated by CIMA+ since its foundation. We are proud to have earned this award that is testimony to our culture of excellence and to the integration of sustainable development into our engineering expertise,” says François Plourde, President and CEO at CIMA+.

This large-scale restoration project ($42 M) of the oldest monastery hospital in North America consisted in bringing all of the archives and collections from the twelve monasteries and hospitals founded by the Augustinians under one roof; and reconfiguring the hospitality infrastructure for visitors who wish to experience the lifestyle of these nuns. The project involved the reconversion of the old “cells” into 60 rooms, the development of a food court, a store, event rooms, a museum, archive centre and museum reserve.
