Aerated lagoon upgrade

Upgrading of aerated lagoons to increase processing capacity.

The City of Fossambault-sur-le-Lac’s facilities are among the first aerated lagoons built in the 1970s under the program led by the Société québécoise de l’assainissement des eaux usées. Carried out in 2012, the project consisted of upgrading the existing facilities and increasing their processing capacity. The upgrade included the replacement of the lagoons’ waterproofing membranes, aeration systems, interconnected pipes, as well as the construction of a new service building. Complete refurbishment was conducted in parallel with the construction of an additional lagoon. Wastewater processing was maintained for the entire project duration.
