Distribution Pole Line Relocation in Vaughan and Richmond Hill

10 km of aerial line relocated onto new concrete poles

This project consisted of relocating two existing wood pole alignments along Bathurst Street in Vaughan to accommodate a road-widening project initiated by the York Region administration. The project limits extended from Highway 7 to Teston Road and Elgin Mills Road, on the East and West sides of Bathurst Street. Roughly, 10 km of aerial line (approximately 220 poles) was to be relocated onto new concrete poles.

In addition to relocating the existing alignments, the project required adding two 27.6 kV circuits per alignment for a total of four circuits. The engineering for this project was accomplished in one single phase to accommodate the York Region administration’s construction schedule.
