This project for the construction of a new drinking water production plant aims at supplying the City of Baie-Comeau’s entire territory.
Up until now, the municipality drinking water supply depended on four plants that did not meet the current requirements of the ministère de l’Environnement, du Développement durable et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MDDELCC).
Three of these plants were obsolete, and one of them was converted into a raw water pumping station, which conveys untreated water to the new plant, through a 7 km water line.
