The Highlands neighbourhood project falls under The City of Edmonton’s neighbourhood renewal program, which covers roads, sidewalks and street lights. Located on the north side of the North Saskatchewan River, and north east of Edmonton’s city centre, this neighbourhood is home to many heritage buildings, including the Gibbard Block in the highlands business district, and the Highlands junior high school built in the early 1910s, as well as many recreation and open spaces, churches and small commercial spaces. The CIMA+ team is responsible for multiple aspects of this project in collaboration with sub-consultants Select Engineering Consultants Ltd. And Emerge Solutions Inc.
