CIMA+ carried out a concept development study to support the improvement of public transit performance on three critical arterial roads in Montreal i.e., Henri-Bourassa Blvd, Park Avenue and Côte-des-Neiges Road. For these roads that are located in a dense, busy urban environment, and shared by various transportation modes, CIMA+ has identified the opportunity to develop bus priority measures, namely by targeting structuring and sustainable concepts, such as bus rapid transit (BRT). The challenge consisted of protecting the existing public right-of-way for each arterial road, and maintaining shared use by various transportation modes. Diagnosis and solution fact sheets were used to present the Société de Transport de Montréal and the City of Montreal with measures adapted to each road section.
Design efficient measures for public transit, through the creation of concepts that include sustainable and innovative developments.
