Local mobility plan (LMP) for the Borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles

A planning tool aimed at defining intervention strategies for improving the movement of persons and goods while enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The Borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles is the second-largest territory on the Island of Montreal, and it stands apart for the presence of vacant lands intended for residential, commercial or industrial development. These projects will increase the number of displacements and conflicts among road users.

Within the context of improving the current and future mobility and quality of life for its residents, the Borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles retained the services de CIMA+ to prepare its first local mobility plan. The plan was developed through a consultation process involving residents, merchants, businesses and elected officials within the territory for the purpose of identifying actions to be implemented over the upcoming years to deal with problems and needs related to vehicular travel, active and public transportation and alternatives to single occupancy vehicle use.
