Replacement of a major equipment in an existing plant

CIMA+ worked as the main integrator to replace an aging gravel bed filter with a brand new bag house system.

The client needed to complete the project within a tight timeframe at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to its extensive expertise in 3D modelling, CIMA+ provided the client and equipment suppliers with a highly accurate and comprehensive 3D scan, as well as a detailed photo library of the system to be replaced. This enabled the exact location of each new piece of equipment to be identified, thus increasing the efficiency of everyone’s work.

This gravel bed filter replacement involved major equipment such as a heat exchanger, bag house, ID fan, conveying equipment and hot air recovery ducts and separation cyclones.

Lafarge Canada purchased the primary equipment from a single equipment manufacturer. CIMA+ worked in close collaboration with this manufacturer to ensure that all provided equipment met the contract requirements and could be integrated properly into the existing plant. CIMA+ also ensured the coordination with Lafarge and the third-party electrical firm.
