The new substation was necessary to ensure greater electrical autonomy for the City of Coaticook and allow it to pursue its development, attract new clients and resume serving neighbouring industries. Considered the most important project of Coaticook’s entire history, the 120-25 kV substation was inaugurated a little over a year after work started, and its actual cost was $8M rather than $10M as originally budgeted.
