Springbank Schools Wastewater Servicing

This project brought an innovative solution to a wastewater problem that was both less time consuming and less costly in the long run.

When an existing agreement to use effluent from three schools and a recreational complex to irrigate adjacent agricultural fields expired, Rocky View Schools mandated CIMA+ to design a long-term sustainable method for wastewater disposal. The school board had allowed the wastewater to collect in the treatment lagoons and periodically had to pump wastewater into a truck to haul it to the Town of Cochrane – an inconvenient and costly resolution. Our team devised a solution to connect the schools and recreation complex to the existing wastewater truck main between the Town of Cochrane and the City of Calgary which eliminated the need to haul the wastewater.
