Laval, June 7, 2016 – We are proud to announce that CIMA+, in cooperation with Teknion and the project teams, has obtained the first LEED Platinum certification for commercial interiors in Quebec.
In order to design its first showroom in Montreal, Teknion, an international leader in the area of office interior design and office furniture manufacturing, has contracted CIMA+’s services for sustainable development, as well as Kiva Design Inc.’s architectural services.
This new commercial space is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, and is easily accessible by public transit and bicycle. The electro-mechanical design team has developed strategies to make this space comfortable, such as strategically located motion and light sensors, and separate heat pump systems for each main area, in order to reduce power consumption. Ample fenestration, superior ventilation and controls allow occupants to enjoy an above-standard work environment.
In order to support Teknion in its efforts to obtain the LEED Canada-CI Platinum certification, CIMA+ acted as a consultant throughout the project, namely proposing several energy efficiency and sustainable construction strategies. CIMA+’s sustainable building team is currently working on others high-profile certifications files.
