Guylaine Belley and Gina Cody: Two new members of CIMA+’s Board of directors

Montreal, December 16 - CIMA+ is proud to announce the appointment of Guylaine Belley and Gina Cody as members of its Board of Directors.

“It is a pleasure to welcome these two experienced directors at CIMA+ who will help us achieve our business and growth objectives across Canada” François Plourde, President and CEO told us.

Guylaine Belley: A born entrepreneur

Madame Guylaine Belley is a seasoned entrepreneur with more than 10 years’ experience as a director for private and public companies, investment funds and non-profit organizations. Holder of a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, in 1997 she cofounded Créatech, one of the largest consulting services firm in industrial engineering in eastern Canada, specializing in LEAN management and ERP systems.

“I am delighted to join CIMA+’s Board of Directors, where I find a family spirit. At CIMA+, human beings are at the heart of everything the firm does,” Mrs. Belley told us.

Gina Cody: An engineering pioneer in Canada

Madame Cody immigrated to Canada from Iran in 1979 to pursue a master’s degree in building engineering at Concordia University, where she later became the first woman awarded a PhD in building engineering. Today the Concordia University Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science is named after her. In 2019, she received the Fellowship Award from the Canadian Academy of Engineers and was inducted to the Order of Montreal. In 2020, she became a member of the Order of Canada, and was named one of the Top 25 Women of Influence in Canada. She has been a consulting engineering entrepreneur for the past 30 years.

“It is with great pleasure that I join CIMA+’s Board of Directors. It is a team of professionals who innovate in their area and focus on the development of sustainable communities. Working with them to build sustainable solutions for communities of today and tomorrow is a very stimulating challenge,” said Mrs. Cody.

With the arrival of Mrs. Belley and Mrs. Cody, CIMA+’s Board of Directors has achieved parity. It now has 50/50 representation of women among their independent board members.

Mrs. Belley has been sitting on the Board since May 31st, and Mrs. Cody will take office on December 16th.
