The CHUS Research Centre accommodates a scientific and technological leadership group that delivers innovation at the regional, national and international levels. The planned expansion called for the surface area of the existing building to be doubled to allow for the addition of a cyclotron, laboratories and clean rooms for producing the radioactive isotopes required for the diagnosis and treatment of a number of diseases. Reconstruction work was then carried out in the existing wing to accommodate specialized medical imaging facilities that meet the specific requirements of fundamental, clinical, epidemiological and evaluative research. The selection of mechanical equipment was guided by sustainable development principles, resulting in highly energy efficiency solutions.
