Local mobility plans (LMPs) – various boroughs, City of Montréal

CIMA+ developed, in close cooperation with the client and the various local stakeholders, a planning tool used to define strategies to improve mobility for all modes at the borough level.

The various boroughs of the Island of Montréal each have their own challenges in the field of mobility depending on the unique characteristics of their land use and the specific needs of their population. In order to promote sustainable mobility within their areas and improve the current and future quality of life of the population, the various borough authorities seek to add local mobility plans (LMPs) to their respective planning toolkits.

Over the years, the CIMA+ team has been involved in the development of numerous LMPs. This strategic exercise followed an in-depth consultation process involving the public, businesses, transportation agencies, and elected officials in the respective areas. This exercise is aimed at identifying the actions which need to be taken in the coming years to deal with the issues and needs relating to vehicular and active mobility, public transit, and alternatives to single-occupancy vehicle use.
