Studies for the project related to the eco-mobility corridor connecting the Talbot zone to downtown Chicoutimi

The Société de transport du Saguenay (STS) mandated CIMA+ to conduct two studies within the context of the project related to the eco-mobility corridor connecting the Talbot zone to downtown Chicoutimi, passing through Cité du Savoir et de la Santé.

The first was a feasibility and design study for implementing Bus Priority Measures along boulevard Talbot, between boulevard du Royaume and rue Chabanel (4.8 km), and along boulevard de l’Université, between boulevard Talbot and boulevard Saint-Paul (2.2 km). The second was a design study for installing an intermodal station at the intersection of boulevard Talbot and boulevard du Royaume, at the southern end of the eco-mobility corridor. For the STS, the objective in carrying out these two projects is to encourage the use of sustainable modes of public transit. This translates firstly into continuation of the Bus Priority Measures (BPM) development program that was previously launched in the Cité du Savoir et de la Santé sector, and secondly, into the desire to create a veritable terminus at the southern end of the eco-mobility corridor in order to enable users to transfer or leave their vehicle and take advantage of a direct and efficient bus service to downtown Chicoutimi that passes through the business hubs within the sector.
