Updating of the master plan for the domestic sewer system

A tool for planning required maintenance and upgrades on the domestic sewer system to support future needs.

As several new residential developments were planned in the next few years, the City needed to examine the capacity of the domestic sewer system to meet an increased demand. CIMA+ was tasked with updating the master plan for the domestic sewer system. The objective was to establish the residual capacity of main trunk sewers and pumping stations and identify which works needed to be carried out on the infrastructure assets to meet the needs of future developments. The study required modelling of the domestic sewer system using the PCSWMM software. This allowed the City to obtain reliable information on the residual capacity of main trunk sewers and pumping stations impacted by the planned residential developments.
